Job summary

The University of Utah seeks a Space Coordinator to join the Academic Space Planning team. This early‑career role supports renovation, relocation, and space management across the campus, coordinating with facilities, IT, and external vendors.

Responsibilities include scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communications, with opportunities to grow in space administration and capital project execution under supervision of the Associate Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; master’s degree preferred.
• Equivalency: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
• Prior project coordination or facilities planning experience preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with renovation, relocation, and capital projects from concept through occupancy.
• Coordinate with academic units to define project scope, schedules, and budgets.
• Monitor budgets, milestones, and project risks; prepare status reports for leadership.
• Communicate issues to project managers and stakeholders and propose solutions.
• Maintain the academic space inventory and support space surveys.
• Coordinate occupancy changes and facilitate furniture installation, equipment, signage, and procurement support.
• Learn and apply CAD tools to support space and operational workflows.
