Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking a Space Coordinator to support its Academic Space Planning team within the EVPAA office. This early‑career role provides foundational experience in space planning, construction, and facilities management on the university campus.

You will coordinate renovation and space coordination projects, liaise with academic and operational partners, and report to the Associate Director of Academic Space Planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) plus 2 years of related work for Project Coordinator I; or master’s (or equivalent) for progression.
• Three years of professional experience in project coordination, facilities planning, architecture, construction, campus planning, or space management.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects, communicate across stakeholders, and use CAD-related tools.

Responsibilities

• Support project management functions; review proposals, track amendments, and ensure contract compliance.
• Coordinate renovation, relocation, and capital-improvement projects from concept to occupancy.
• Communicate with facilities, IT, moving services, and vendors; monitor budgets and risks.
• Maintain space data, run planning analyses, and prepare utilization reports.
• Provide administrative support to the Space Planning team and assist with day-to-day tasks.
