Job summary

Blue Origin in Kent, Washington is seeking an engineer to translate drawings and configurations into additively manufactured metallic flight hardware. You will own the printing to post‑processing workflow, create the print model, track work orders, and resolve manufacturing issues while collaborating with operators and quality technicians.

You will use data to drive improvements, relay design changes to engineering, and develop manufacturing work instructions from print to delivery, ensuring

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • 2+ years in aerospace or similar industries.
  • Exposure to and understanding of laser powder bed fusion printing or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Own the offshift Engineering support of Additively Manufactured components from printing to post-processing production using Laser Powder Bed printing.
  • Demonstrate machine specific workflows and software packages to improve additive designs.
  • Participate in company process definition and improvement teams for manufacturing processes, business processes, production planning, lessons learned, and other standards/processes as needed.
  • Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the full process from print to delivery.
  • Closely manage cost, quality, build sequence, and schedule of hardware throughout the entire manufacturing process.
  • Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions.
  • Ability to support operations onsite in Kent, Washington and during off hours via phone or online tools
