Job summary

Cloudera Government Solutions is seeking a Solutions Engineer to drive the technical pre-sales motion in partnership with Account Executives. You will lead deep discovery with prospective customers, build tailored solution designs, and demonstrate how Cloudera CDP solves complex data challenges.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in pre-sales, strong cloud and Hadoop ecosystems experience, and a passion for data engineering and analytics.

Qualifications

5+ years in a pre-sales customer-facing role
Experience with technical discovery, whiteboarding proposed solutions, demos, and proof-of-concepts
Experience with public cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and interest in cloud certification
Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive, Impala, Kudu, Solr)
Knowledge of Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, SQL and relational patterns
Experience with Data Flow, Queues and Stream Processing (NiFi, Kafka, Flink, Spark)
Some software development experience in Java, Scala or Python
Interest in Data Science and data engineering vs applied science
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
Bachelor's degree in a technical field

Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted technical advisor during pre-sales, leading discovery, solution design, and interactive demos
Create and deliver customer-focused solution designs and architectures for all stakeholder levels
Advise on use-case patterns through workshops and requirements gathering
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Services, Support, Training, and Engineering to share Cloudera's vision
Translate feedback into actionable roadmap items
Champion open-source data ecosystems (Spark, Iceberg, Data Lakehouse) and data platforms
Contribute to community and knowledge-sharing activities
