Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Solutions Engineer to drive technical pre-sales and partner with Account Executives to win deals and build lasting customer relationships. You will run deep discovery, deliver tailored solution designs, and present impactful demos to show measurable value of Cloudera's CDP platform.

You will work with prospects to understand business drivers, pain points, and goals, translating them into architectures and proofs-of-concept that guide strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a pre-sales role acting as a co-seller.
• Experience with technical discovery, whiteboarding, demos, and PoCs.
• Experience with public cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud).
• Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN) & related components (Spark, Hive, Impala, Kudu, Solr).
• Knowledge of Data Lakes, Data Warehousing concepts, SQL patterns.
• Experience with data flow/stream processing (Nifi, Kafka, Flink, Spark).
• Basic software development in Java/Scala/Python.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the pre-sales lifecycle, leading discovery, design and demos.
• Create and deliver customer-centric solution designs, architectures and business outcomes for stakeholders.
• Advise customers on use-case patterns and requirements.
• Define technical selling strategy with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Services, Support, Training, and Engineering.
• Translate customer feedback into actionable roadmap items.
• Champion open-source data ecosystems and related platforms.
