Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Solutions Engineer to drive the pre‑sales motion, partnering with Account Executives to win deals and build lasting customer relationships. You will run deep discovery and craft tailored designs, demos, and proof‑of‑concepts that demonstrate the measurable value of Cloudera's CDP platform.

In this role you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, translate business goals into technical solutions, and contribute to open‑source ecosystems such as Spark and Kafka.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a pre‑sales, customer‑facing role selling enterprise solutions
• Experience with technical discovery, whiteboarding proposed solutions, demos, and proofs of concepts
• Experience with public cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud) and interest in cloud certifications
• Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive, Impala, Kudu, Solr) and data lakehouse concepts
• Knowledge of data flows, streaming (NiFi, Kafka, Flink, Spark) and data integration

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery, custom solution design, and interactive demos to translate customer pain points into business value
• Create customer‑centric solution designs and architectures for developers, architects, CTOs, and CIOs
• Advise on use case patterns through discovery workshops
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Services, Support, Training, and Engineering to share Cloudera’s vision
• Transform customer feedback into actionable product roadmap items
• Promote open‑source data ecosystems (Spark, Iceberg, data lakehouse, AI, streaming) with customers
• Engage with the Cloudera community through blogs, meetups, and events
