Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support our Power Division in designing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

The role includes plant layout, selecting hardware, system optimization, interconnection requirements, and leading portions of electrical engineering on projects. You will coordinate with the Project Lead and Senior Engineers and supervise junior engineers, designers, and drafters.

Qualifications

• Lead electrical engineering portions of solar projects.
• Know NEC and NESC; read and create construction drawings.
• 3–7 years of experience in electrical distribution or generation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong technical writing.
• AutoCAD experience in limited capacity is beneficial.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
• QA/QC of design work by interns, graduates, and staff engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering portions of commercial and utility-scale solar projects.
• Verify electrical scope is incorporated into design and coordinate change orders with the project manager.
• Ensure schedules for electrical engineering deliverables are met.
• Coordinate with civil, geotechnical, structural engineers, and surveyors.
• Create construction drawings and specification packages; perform electrical calculations.
