Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to design solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and lead electrical engineering portions of projects.

You will develop plant layouts, select appropriate hardware, optimize systems, and coordinate with the Project Lead and senior engineers, while guiding junior staff. The role requires NEC/NESC knowledge, experience with electrical design and construction documentation, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical or Renewable Engineering required.
• Strong knowledge of NEC/NESC and electrical codes.
• Experience with electrical design for solar PV projects preferred.
• 3–7 years in electrical distribution/generation design.
• Ability to read and create construction drawings and specs.
• Proficiency with MS Office; strong technical reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering portions of commercial and utility-scale solar projects.
• Coordinate with project team and clients to ensure design quality.
• Develop construction documents and perform electrical calculations/studies.
• Manage schedule and QA/QC of design work.
• Mentor junior staff and interns where applicable.
