Job summary

Origis Energy in Columbus, MS is seeking a Solar PV & BESS O&M Technician responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of utility-scale solar PV and energy storage systems. Tasks include inspections, preventative maintenance, and routine repairs, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The role requires understanding of solar operations, electrical systems, and the ability to work independently while following established safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and electrical certifications or training preferred.
• Experience with large-scale solar O&M (operations and maintenance).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and operate SCADA and CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on AC/DC systems including inverters and transformers.
• Monitor plant operations via SCADA and assist with commissioning and testing.
• Follow safety protocols including JHA and LOTO; maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and support maintenance tasks.
• Lead installation tasks with torqueing, calibration, and use of specialized tools.
• Mentor junior technicians and develop maintenance plans and schedules.
