Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a field technician for on-site work at a McCamey, TX jobsite. The role starts contingent with a potential path to permanent employment, performing maintenance and service on solar equipment across multiple plants while following strict safety practices.

You will be exposed to mechanical and electrical systems, with duties including testing, troubleshooting, and repairs under supervision, and occasional travel up to 10% for training and site coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; vocational/technical training a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment through training or experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Basic understanding of solar installation/plant.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Effective verbal and written English communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety as the top priority and ensure adherence to safe practices.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment at multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of solar equipment.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
• Be on-call as directed for emergency repairs.
• Prepare accurate reports of work performed.
