Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 2) for a full-time, on-site role at a McCamey, TX jobsite. You will perform field maintenance and troubleshooting on solar facilities, operate with minimal supervision, and support safety-first field operations.

You will test and repair solar equipment, monitor electrical systems, document work, and collaborate with a team to implement improvements. The position emphasizes on-call availability and adherence to safety training.

Qualifications

• Ability to recognize work hazards and mitigate using proper tools and procedures.
• Identify energized and de-energized electrical parts and safely de-energize sources before beginning work.
• Basic electrical testing and troubleshooting equipment knowledge.
• Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures understanding.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Keep current in safety and technical trainings.
• Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions.
• On-call availability (weekends or after-hours).
• Ability to work with other technicians to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the most important function; ensure safe practices at all times.
• Perform Solar Technician I level responsibilities as needed.
• Test, troubleshoot, maintain and repair solar equipment and systems with minimal supervision.
• Test electrical systems on solar equipment with minimal supervision.
• Use system monitoring applications to identify issues and determine responses (e.g., Locus, QOS, Vitals, RTDB).
• Maintain accurate time and material records for work performed.
• Operate service equipment safely and maintain records.
• Provide on‑call service at assigned solar facilities.
• Create accurate documentation and reports of work performed.
• Create end-to-end tickets and track time/materials using the Sprocket system.
