Job summary

SOLV Energy, a leading provider of solar and energy infrastructure, is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) for full-time on-site work at Cantil, CA. You will perform field maintenance and learn safe work practices in the solar industry, under supervision.

The role begins as a contingent position with potential to become permanent, with on-call responsibilities and opportunities to grow technical skills in electrical, hydraulic, and testing equipment within solar plants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical training a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment.
• Demonstrated basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and perform effective Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Demonstrated basic understanding of a solar installation/plant.
• Demonstrated basic knowledge of testing equipment.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Obtain NFPA 70e Safety Training certification and stay current.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Stresses that safety is the top priority and enforces safe practices.
• Work safely under all circumstances and seek guidance on unfamiliar tasks.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment in multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Replace or repair solar parts/equipment under supervision.
• Respond on-call as directed to assist in emergencies.
• Prepare accurate documentation and required reports of work performed.
• Collaborate on process improvements and coordinate with EPC management.
• Uphold diversity and inclusion as part of SOLV Energy culture.
