Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) for full-time on-site work at a Ben Wheeler, TX jobsite. You will learn safe solar industry practices while performing field maintenance under supervision.

The role involves basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of solar equipment, equipment handling, documentation, and on-call support, with opportunities to grow in safety and technical skills.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment through training or experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to identify and perform Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts and systems.
• Basic knowledge of a solar installation/plant and testing equipment.
• Effective verbal and written English communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for training and site coverage.
• NFPA 70e Safety Training certification and ongoing safety training compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as the core focus and ensure safe practices at all times.
• Operate and maintain company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment at multiple plants under supervision.
• Conduct basic testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance under supervision.
• Replace or repair parts under supervision and handle on-call responses.
• Prepare accurate documentation and reports of work performed.
• Identify process improvements and coordinate with EPC management on implementations.
• Support a diverse, inclusive workplace and comply with company policies.
