Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a permanent, site-based Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to perform field maintenance and learn safe work practices in the solar industry. The role is full-time at a specific site with no travel, relocation assistance, or per diem provided, and may involve on-call duties.

Responsibilities include servicing solar equipment across multiple plants under supervision, basic testing and troubleshooting, and documenting work performed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; vocational/technical training is a plus.
• Ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment via training or experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Know-how of Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Basic understanding of solar installation/plant operations.
• Knowledge of testing equipment.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Obtain NFPA 70e Safety Training certification and stay current in trainings.
• Strong English communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather; on-call availability.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record; occasional travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as the core responsibility and ensure compliance with safe practices.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment across multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance on solar equipment.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
• Respond on-call to assist in emergency repairs as directed.
• Prepare accurate work reports and documentation of tasks performed.
• Support process improvements and coordinate with EPC management.
