Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to join our Abbott, TX team. This entry-level role focuses on field maintenance and learning safe work practices within the solar industry. The position is full-time and located on a jobsite in Abbott, TX.

You will perform basic solar equipment testing and maintenance under supervision, follow safety procedures, and help document work performed while supporting multiple solar plants across our network.

Qualifications

• Follows safety protocols and can work in mechanical/electrical settings.
• Has basic understanding of solar installations and testing equipment.
• Obtains NFPA 70e Safety Training certification and keeps trainings current.
• Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 10% for site coverage.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as the core responsibility of every task.
• Perform basic solar equipment testing, troubleshooting and maintenance under supervision.
• Replace or repair solar parts with supervision and proper procedures.
• Operate and care for company equipment and tooling.
• Prepare reports and documentation of work performed.
• Assist in continuous process improvements and new technology pilots.
