Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining solar, storage and substation projects. This permanent site-based role focuses on basic maintenance of solar equipment with safety as the top priority.

The Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) will operate at a specific site, learn to follow safe work practices, and may require on-call availability as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
• Familiarity with solar installations and testing equipment.
• Proficient in basic computer operations.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must obtain NFPA 70e Safety Training certification.
• Remain current in safety and technical trainings.
• Strong English verbal and written communication; good organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for training and site coverage.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the top priority and all employees follow safe practices.
• Work safely under all circumstances and seek guidance when needed.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment in multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance on solar equipment.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
• Respond on-call as directed to assist in repairs.
• Prepare documentation and reports of work performed.
• Collaborate with EPC management on improvements.
• Support process improvements and adoption of new technologies.
