Job summary

First Solar Inc. in the United States is seeking a Production Coater Technician I to support the early stages of manufacturing, operating coating equipment, and ensuring safety, quality, and throughput.

The role includes preventive maintenance and basic quality checks on materials and processes. You will monitor process data, perform routine maintenance with hand tools, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preference for Associate’s degree or certificate in a technical discipline.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Internal candidates: 60 credits of internal training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety procedures and maintains housekeeping.
• Safely operates and maintains tools and equipment to meet quality/productivity levels.
• Completes training in the required timeframe.
• Provides on-the-job training to team members when requested.
• Performs maintenance on equipment with hand tools and instrumentation.
• Operates forklift/crane with proper training and certification when required.
• Interfaces with equipment computers to monitor parameters and alarms.
• Monitors process data (SPC) and makes decisions to maintain process control.
• Escalates issues with clear communication and recommendations.
• Works with cross-functional teams on problem solving and tests.
• Collects data and provides reporting as requested.
• Maintains inventory levels and proper waste disposal.
