Job summary

First Solar, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Production Coater Technician I to initiate the coating process and safely operate manufacturing equipment for high-quality photovoltaic modules.

You will perform basic maintenance, monitor alarms, and participate in on-the-floor training as needed. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preference for technical credentials and 2+ years of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical certificate preferred.
• 2+ years manufacturing experience or equivalent substitute experience.
• Internal candidates should have 60 internal credits or equivalent training.
• Military experience in relevant technical fields is considered.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety procedures and maintains housekeeping.
• Operates and maintains tools and equipment to meet quality and productivity goals.
• Completes required training within set timeframes.
• Provides on-the-job training to teammates when asked.
• Performs maintenance using hand tools and instrumentation.
• Operates forklift and crane with proper training and certification.
• Interacts with equipment consoles to monitor parameters and alarms.
• Monitors process data (SPC) and makes decisions to maintain process control.
• Escalates issues and communicates findings to team/leadership.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on problem solving.
• Collects data and reports as requested.
• Ensures adequate inventory and safe waste disposal for next shift.
