Job summary

First Solar seeks a Production Coater Technician I to start up the coating process for photovoltaic modules. You will safely operate equipment, manage materials, and perform basic quality checks in a manufacturing setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with preference for technical training, plus at least two years of manufacturing experience. Internal candidates need supervisor endorsements and a good safety/performance record.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience or equivalent substitutions allowed.
• Internal candidates must meet internal training credits and supervisor endorsement.
• Positive ratings for Safety, Performance, Dependability, and Collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety procedures and maintains good housekeeping.
• Operates and maintains tools/equipment to meet quality and productivity.
• Completes required training on schedule; provides on-the-job training to teammates.
• Performs maintenance on equipment with hand tools and instrumentation.
• Operates forklift/crane with proper training when required.
• Interacts with equipment computers to monitor parameters and alarms.
• Monitors SPC data and makes decisions to maintain process control.
• Escalates issues with clear communication and recommendations.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on problem solving.
• Ensures inventory and waste control for next shift.
