Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Solar & BESS Technician II to perform O&M on solar and energy storage facilities. The role emphasizes electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance within a collaborative team.

The technician will handle inverter, transformer, and battery module work, follow strict safety protocols, and may travel up to three hours daily or travel overnight up to ten percent. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-year technical degree or equivalent journeyman qualifications preferred.
• 3+ years of PV O&M experience or 5+ years in a power plant.
• Experience with PV or BESS system installation and electrical/mechanical fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for O&M activities for Solar and Energy Storage projects.
• Performs maintenance and operations on inverters, transformers, battery modules, DC/AC collection equipment.
• Electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, and inverter troubleshooting.
• Follow LO TO, job safety analysis, work permits, and safety procedures.
• Operate plant systems and assist with documentation like Plant Orders and Operating Instructions.
• Travel daily up to 3 hours and overnight travel up to 10% as needed.
• Overtime and call-ins may be required.
