Job summary

AES Corporation in Chandler, AZ is seeking a PV O&M technician to manage solar and energy storage project maintenance. You will perform electrical and mechanical tasks, follow safety procedures, and operate plant systems while adhering to LOTO and environmental standards.

The ideal candidate has PV/BESS installation experience, strong safety knowledge, and English proficiency, with some Spanish/Portuguese as a plus. This is a hands-on role requiring travel to facilities and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Possess 2-year technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications (plus).
• Three (3) years of experience as a PV O&M technician or five (5) or more years of experience in a power plant.
• Experience with PV or BESS system installation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills) such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid-state theory application

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assigned O&M activities associated with Solar and Energy Storage projects.
• Performs/assists with corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations for equipment including inverters, transformers, battery modules, DC/AC collection and distribution equipment.
• Performs/assists with routine maintenance work (electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, inverter troubleshooting).
• Understands and executes equipment clearances (LOTO) using set procedures and safety permits.
• Operates electrical and mechanical power plant systems.
• Participates in training and may require limited travel.
• Writes/assists with Plant Orders, Plant Procedures, Operating Instructions and other documents.
• Operates Solar plus BESS facility in compliance with regulatory standards.
