Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a seasoned Solar Technician to support its growing PV O&M operations in California. You will perform maintenance on utility-scale solar plants in the Central Valley and Kern County, leading field personnel when needed.

The role requires a technical degree or Journeyman status, 3+ years PV O&M experience (or 5+ years in a power plant), and strong safety and communication skills to operate diverse equipment and ensure highest standards of performance.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or Journeyman qualifications.
• 3+ years as PV O&M solar technician or 5+ years in a power plant with 1+ year PV O&M or construction.
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical fundamentals and control devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance on utility-scale solar plants in California's Central Valley and Kern County.
• Operate and maintain equipment including trackers, inverters, DC/AC equipment, and associated hardware.
• Ensure work complies with environmental and safety requirements.
• Work independently or in crews to meet operational standards.
