Job summary

AES Corporation seeks a Solar & BESS Technician II to join our energy team. You will perform maintenance and operations on solar and energy storage projects, including inverters, batteries, and associated electrical equipment.

Travel locally and occasionally overnight, with focus on safety and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or technical degree, PV/O&M experience, and familiarity with SCADA and CMMS systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-year technical degree or Journeyman qualifications.
• PV O&M technician experience or 5+ years in a power plant.
• Experience with PV or BESS installations.
• Fundamental electrical and mechanical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform/assist with corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance for PV and BESS equipment.
• Operate and troubleshoot inverters, transformers, battery modules, DC/AC collection systems.
• Follow safety procedures (LOTO, JSA, WA, Confined Space, Hot Work).
• Travel daily up to 3 hours and overnight up to 10% as needed.
• Document work through Plant Orders and Operating Instructions.
