Job summary

Southern Company is seeking a Renewable & Resiliency Technician to provide O&M support for GPC R2Gen - Solar, BESS, and DER facilities across Georgia. The role involves monitoring via SCADA, performing inspections, and executing maintenance on AC/DC systems, inverters, transformers, SCADA components, and related equipment.

Candidates should have a two-year technical degree or military equivalent, be EEI TECH test qualified, and be prepared for varied schedules including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree from a certified technical institution or military equivalent.
• EEI TECH test qualification is required.
• Must live within one hour drive of the work location.
• Extended hours including nights and weekends may be required.
• Must be available for call-out to support operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Travel to and from site locations around the region or state as needed.
• Or - may be assigned to one site
• Assist with planning, coordinating, & scheduling of site maintenance activities and projects
• Execution of site operations and maintenance activities and projects
• Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment
• Site compliance facilitator, and executer (Environmental, Health, and Safety)
• Site contractor compliance facilitator, and executer
• Site – LOTO administrator, facilitator, and executer
• Maximo User – PMs, CMs, CDs, Inventory, PRs, POs, and record keeping
• Participate in team meetings (Morning Meetings, Planning Meetings, Safety Meetings, etc)
• Participate and complete all assigned training
• Effectively communicate with Team Leader and Team Members
