Job summary

Georgia Power seeks a Renewable & Resiliency Technician to provide O&M support for GPC Solar, BESS, and DER facilities across Georgia. The role involves monitoring via SCADA, troubleshooting, and performing maintenance on inverters, PV modules, BESS, transformers, and related electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities include site compliance, LOTO administration, and coordination of multi-site maintenance activities. Extensive travel may be required and night/weekend work is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of industrial or power plant facility operations and maintenance
• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical and mechanical safety
• Understanding of LOTO, switching, maintenance processes, and basic industrial compliance
• Ability to read electrical schematics and prints
• Proficiency with DC systems and equipment
• Knowledge of medium/high voltage AC systems up to 34.5 kV
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
• Self-directed, customer-focused, and able to work alone or in a team
• Preferred: Solar or BESS plant maintenance experience
• Preferred: MAXIMO knowledge
• Preferred: SafeTK knowledge
• Preferred: Contractor compliance experience
• Preferred: Knowledge of medium/low voltage distribution

Responsibilities

• Travel to and from site locations around the region or state as needed
• Assist with planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities
• Execute site operations and maintenance tasks
• Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment
• Support Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance
• Support contractor compliance activities
• Serve as LOTO administrator and facilitator
• Use MAXIMO for PMs, CMs, CDs, inventory, PRs, POs, and record keeping
• Participate in team and safety meetings
• Complete assigned training and communicate with Team Leader
