Job summary

Georgia Power seeks an O&M Technician to support operation and maintenance of utility-scale PV solar, BESS, and DER facilities across Georgia. Duties include monitoring via SCADA, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of AC/DC systems, with equipment like inverters, PV modules, batteries, transformers, and switchgear.

5/8s or 4/10s schedules, night/weekend/on-call work may be required. Candidate must live within an hour of a site, have a two-year technical degree, be EEI TECH test qualified,

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of industrial or power plant facility operations and maintenance.
• Electrical and mechanical safety knowledge and practices.
• Familiar with LOTO, switching, maintenance processes, and basic industrial compliance obligations.

Responsibilities

• Travel to site locations around the region or state as needed.
• Assist with planning, coordinating, & scheduling of site maintenance activities and projects.
• Execute site operations and maintenance activities and projects.
• Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment.
• Support Environmental, Health, and Safety site compliance.
• Ensure contractor compliance for sites and operations.
• Act as LOTO administrator and facilitator.
• Utilize Maximo for PMs, CMs, CDs, Inventory, PRs, POs, and record keeping.
• Participate in team, safety and planning meetings.
• Complete all assigned training and communicate effectively with team leadership.
