O&M Technician - Solar, BESS & DERs (GA)

Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking a field-based O&M technician to provide safe and reliable operation and maintenance of utility-scale PV solar plants, BESS, and DERs across Georgia. You will monitor assets via SCADA, perform inspections, troubleshoot, and execute repairs for DC/AC systems at multiple facilities, including 600V-1500V DC and up to 34.5kV AC.

The role requires travel to various sites, adherence to LOTO and safety programs, and daily use of MAXIMO for work planning and inventory.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree from a certified technical institution or military equivalent.
• EEI TECH test qualified.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Willing to travel regionally as needed.
• Preferred - Solar or BESS plant maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel to and from site locations around the region or state as needed.
• Or - may be assigned to one site
• Assist with planning, coordinating, & scheduling of site maintenance activities and projects
• Execution of site operations and maintenance activities and projects
• Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment
• Site compliance facilitator, and executer (Environmental, Health, and Safety)
• Site contractor compliance facilitator, and executer
• Site – LOTO administrator, facilitator, and executer
• Maximo User – PMs, CMs, CDs, Inventory, PRs, POs, and record keeping
• Participate in team meetings (Morning Meetings, Planning Meetings, Safety Meetings, etc)
• Participate and complete all assigned training
• Effectively communicate with Team Leader and Team Members
