Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking a skilled O&M Technician to support utility-scale PV solar plants, BESS, and DERs across Georgia. Responsibilities include monitoring via SCADA, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of AC/DC systems, with familiarity in 600V-1500V DC and up to 34.5kV AC.

You will ensure safety, environmental, and contractor compliance and use Maximo for planning and documentation. Ideal candidates will have a two-year technical degree or military equivalent, EEI TECH test

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of industrial or power plant facility operations and maintenance.
• Demonstrate knowledge in electrical and mechanical safety.
• Understand industrial safety practices such as LOTO, switching, maintenance processes, and basic industrial compliance obligations.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and prints.
• Proficient with DC systems and equipment.
• Fundamental understanding of medium & high voltage AC systems up to 34.5KV.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Self-directed, responsible, and accountable.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Physical fitness for demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Travel to and from site locations around the region or state as needed.
• Or - may be assigned to one site
• Assist with planning, coordinating, & scheduling of site maintenance activities and projects.
• Execution of site operations and maintenance activities and projects.
• Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment.
• Site compliance facilitator, and executer (Environmental, Health, and Safety).
• Site contractor compliance facilitator, and executer.
• Site – LOTO administrator, facilitator, and executer.
• Maximo User – PMs, CMs, CDs, Inventory, PRs, POs, and record keeping.
• Participate in team meetings (Morning Meetings, Planning Meetings, Safety Meetings, etc)
• Participate and complete all assigned training
• Effectively communicate with Team Leader and Team Members
