Job summary

QE Solar seeks a Solar Field Technician to support ongoing field services for solar, BESS, and related systems. You will perform inspections, maintenance, testing, and compliance tasks, while assisting field teams and clients with warranty issues and real-time solutions.

Candidates typically have 0–2 years in solar or renewables and knowledge of 600V–1500V systems, NEC/IEEE/NFPA-70E standards, and safety protocols. OSHA training and relevant certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

High School or Technical School degree required; veterans encouraged to apply.
0-2+ years of specialist, technical experience with solar projects, BESS, or other renewables; data acquisition experience.
Experience with 600V-1500V systems; NEC/IEEE/NFPA-70E familiarity; C&I/Utility Scale solar work experience a plus.
Inverter and/or BESS manufacturer certifications; OSHA 10/30; NFPA 70E; CPR/First Aid; IT/networking basics (RS485, Modbus)

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair site failures; assist field teams with real-time solutions and preventative maintenance.
Maintain safe work environment; ensure compliance with safety policies and lock-out/tag-out where required.
Prepare service tickets and reports for site visits and emergency repairs; communicate findings clearly.
Coordinate with technical leads and subcontractors to resolve issues and implement improvements.
