Job summary

QE Solar is seeking a Solar Field Technician to support multiple solar and BESS systems through field service, diagnostics, and repairs. You will perform inspections, maintenance, and testing while ensuring safety and compliance across sites.

Ideal candidates possess 0-2+ years in solar or renewable tech, familiar with 600V-1500V systems, and have basic IT/Modbus networking knowledge. The role involves extensive regional travel and hands-on equipment work.

Qualifications

• High School or Technical School Degree or equivalent experience.
• 0-2+ years of specialist technical experience with solar projects, BESS, or other renewable systems; experience with data acquisition systems.
• 600V-1500V systems experience preferred; NEC/IEEE/NFPA-70e knowledge helpful.
• Certifications in inverter/BESS tech, thermography, NABCEP PV Installer, OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid are pluses.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair solar, BESS and related equipment at multiple sites; provide real-time field solutions.
• Maintain safety, compliance, and proper reporting; prepare service tickets and site reports.
• Coordinate with technical leads, project managers, and subcontractors for issue resolution.
• Assist with inspections, testing, maintenance projects, and compliance activities.
