Job summary

QE Solar is seeking a Solar Field Technician to provide ongoing field services support for solar, battery storage, and related renewable systems. You will diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance to optimize site performance and safety.

Travel regionally and occasionally nationally is required. Candidates with 0–2 years of hands-on experience, NEC/IEEE knowledge, and relevant certifications are encouraged to apply. This role offers comprehensive safety training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 0-2+ years of specialist, technical experience with solar projects, BESS, or other renewable systems; Experience with data acquisition systems.
• Experience working with 600v-1500v systems; Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE and current NFPA-70e requirements.
• IT/networking skills: RS485, Modbus, tcp/ip; NABCEP PV Installer certification and OSHA 10/30 are a plus.
• Completion of NFPA 70E courses and CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair systems failures and perform regular preventative maintenance on solar, BESS and related equipment.
• Ensure a safe, event-free work environment and compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Prepare service tickets and reports for site visits, emergency repairs and modifications.
• Communicate with technical leads, project managers and subcontractors to ensure timely resolution of activities.
