Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Software Engineer for Workforce Insights to develop and operate Python services, SQL transformations, and BI integrations. You will collaborate with data engineers and HR partners to translate requirements into reliable code and tests, building BigQuery models and deployment tooling.

You’ll contribute to Superset datasets, ensure security patterns, and participate in CI/CD using GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of Python or a comparable language with automated tests.
• 3+ years building or integrating APIs, data workflows, or production systems.
• 3+ years across application code, data transformations, and operational tooling.
• 2+ years of advanced SQL, preferably BigQuery.
• 2+ years with Kimball dimensional modeling concepts.
• 2+ years of Airflow/Cloud Composer and Python for ETL.
• 2+ years with cloud data platforms (GCP) and security concepts.
• 1+ year with an enterprise BI layer (Superset/Looker/Power BI).
• 1+ year with Git, code review, CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• 1+ year tracing data or metric discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate software across Python services, SQL transformations, and workflows.
• Translate requirements into technical tasks; collaborate with data engineers and HR partners.
• Participate in code reviews and write automated tests for logic and data contracts.
• Build BigQuery transformations and models following conventions.
• Implement workforce metric definitions in SQL and BI integrations.
• Document changes and obtain definition-owner approval before release.
• Contribute to Superset datasets and dashboard integrations; support APIs and SSO.
