Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable web applications and data infrastructures within the ID&E practice. You will drive architecture decisions, ensure system reliability, and collaborate with data scientists and designers to deliver engaging data-driven interfaces.

The role involves applying emerging technologies, including generative AI, XR concepts, and modern web stacks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical knowledge
• 5+ years of experience in application engineering, software development, or a closely related technical role
• Proficiency across the full web stack with backend focus and UI collaboration
• Experience designing and owning web app architecture for data-intensive apps
• Experience with back-end languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript and front-end frameworks like React or Vue
• Experience integrating generative AI into production or near-production apps and working with LLM APIs
• Knowledge of data pipelines, data APIs, and cloud data platforms integration
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD, environment management, and security principles
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Interest in emerging interfaces like XR and AI-assisted UX

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain web app infrastructure and data systems for engaging experiences
• Own application-layer technical standards, design patterns, deployment practices, and performance benchmarks
• Collaborate with information engineers, designers, and data scientists to deliver visualizations and interfaces
• Write production-quality code across the full stack, focusing on backend services and data APIs
• Lead evaluation and responsible deployment of generative AI capabilities in web apps
• Prototype architectures for XR and AI-assisted interfaces
• Ensure reliability, security, accessibility, and scalability across ID&E systems
• Research new technologies and establish engineering standards and best practices
• Partner with frontend teams on design system implementation and UI quality
