Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain the technical systems powering high-quality information experiences. You will own backend services, data APIs, and deployment practices while collaborating with designers and data scientists to deliver engaging visualizations and UI components.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on engineering, strong back-end and front-end capabilities, and experience integrating AI into production apps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/SE/IS.
• 5+ years of experience in application engineering, software development, or related technical role.
• Proficiency across the full web stack with back-end focus and UI collaboration.
• Experience designing and owning web app architecture for data-intensive apps.
• Experience with back-end languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript) and front-end frameworks (React, Vue).
• Experience integrating generative AI into production applications, including LLM APIs and prompts.
• Knowledge of data pipeline architecture and cloud data platform integration.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment practices (Azure preferred).
• Understanding of CI/CD, environment management, and application security.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain web application infrastructure and data systems that power interactive experiences.
• Own application-layer technical standards, including code quality and deployment practices.
• Collaborate with information engineers, designers, and data scientists to deliver data stories and UI components.
• Write production-quality code across the full stack, focusing on back-end services and data APIs.
• Lead the evaluation and integration of generative AI capabilities within web applications and information systems.
• Prototype architectures for emerging interfaces including XR and AI-assisted experiences.
• Ensure reliability, security, accessibility, and scalability across ID&E systems.
• Research and adopt new technologies and architectural approaches for the team.
