Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain web applications and data systems that power Information Design & Engineering. The role emphasizes reliability, performance, and scalable infrastructure across full stack development.

You will collaborate with information engineers, designers, and data scientists to deliver engaging data stories, visualizations, and AI-enabled features, while advancing architecture decisions in a hybrid or remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in application engineering or related role with senior-level ownership.
• Experience designing data-intensive web applications and scalable systems.
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript and frontend frameworks (React, Vue).
• Experience integrating generative AI capabilities and working with LLM APIs.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms, CI/CD, and security practices.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain web application infrastructure and data systems.
• Own application-level standards, design patterns, deployment, and performance.
• Collaborate with data scientists, designers, and engineers to deliver interactive data stories and UIs.
• Write production-quality code across the full stack, with back-end focus.
• Lead AI integration initiatives and prototype new interfaces (XR, AI-assisted UX).
• Ensure security, accessibility, and scalability of ID&E systems.
• Evaluate new technologies and document engineering standards.
