Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain web applications and data systems supporting ID&E objectives. The role focuses on architecture, performance, and reliability across back-end services, data APIs, and infrastructure.

The candidate will collaborate with information engineers, designers, and data scientists, integrating generative AI capabilities and exploring XR interfaces while ensuring security and scalability for an enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical knowledge
• 5+ years in application engineering or related technical role with progression toward senior ownership
• Proficiency across full web stack; strong back-end and data APIs
• Experience designing web app architecture for data-intensive apps
• Experience with Python/JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks (React, Vue)
• Experience integrating generative AI into production apps (LLM APIs, prompts)
• Knowledge of data pipelines, cloud data platforms, and Azure CI/CD/security
• Familiarity with XR, AI-assisted interfaces, and emerging tech
• Strong communication of complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain web application infrastructure and data systems
• Own application-level standards, deployment practices, and performance benchmarks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data stories and visualizations
• Write production-quality code across full stack with emphasis on back-end services
• Lead evaluation and integration of generative AI within apps and data systems
• Prototype architectures for XR and AI-assisted interfaces
• Ensure reliability, security, accessibility, and scalability of ID&E systems
• Research new technologies and establish best practices for engineering
