Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain the web applications and data systems powering their client-focused information experiences.

You will drive architecture decisions, implement standards, and collaborate across Information Engineers, designers, and data scientists to deliver engaging data stories and interactive interfaces with AI-enabled capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application engineering, software development, or a closely related technical role.
• Experience designing and owning web application architecture for data-intensive or interactive applications.
• Proficiency in Python, Javascript/TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (React, Vue).
• Experience integrating generative AI capabilities into production applications, including LLM APIs and prompt-driven workflows.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain web application infrastructure and data systems for interactive, narrative-driven experiences.
• Own application-level technical standards, deployment practices, and performance benchmarks.
• Collaborate with information engineers, designers, and data scientists to deliver engaging data stories and visualizations.
• Write production-quality code across the full stack, emphasizing backend services, data APIs, and infrastructure.
• Lead evaluation and deployment of generative AI within web applications and information systems.
