Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain web applications and data systems for ID&E initiatives, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security. You will collaborate with information engineers, data scientists, and designers to deliver engaging data stories and UI components, and to prototype AI-enabled interfaces including XR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent
• 5+ years in application engineering or software development with progression toward senior ownership
• Proficiency across the full web stack; back-end focus with front-end collaboration
• Experience designing and owning web app architectures for data-intensive apps, with scale and performance in mind
• Proficiency in one or more back-end languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript) and frontend frameworks (React, Vue)
• Experience integrating generative AI capabilities and working with LLM APIs and prompts
• Knowledge of data pipelines, data APIs, and cloud data platform integration
• Experience with Azure cloud and CI/CD, environment management, and security
• Knowledge of enterprise software architecture patterns and secure engineering practices
• Interest in XR, spatial computing, or AI-assisted interfaces and rapid learning

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain web app infrastructure and data systems for interactive information experiences
• Own application-level standards, design patterns, deployment practices, and performance benchmarks
• Collaborate with Information Engineers, designers, and data scientists to deliver engaging data stories and UI components
• Write production-quality code across the full stack, focusing on back-end services and data APIs
• Lead evaluation and responsible deployment of generative AI capabilities within web apps
• Prototype architectures for emerging interfaces, including XR and AI-enabled experiences
