Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking a Software Development Manager, AVP to lead the Core Services platform delivery. You will own end-to-end design, development, and production stability across multiple backend services, with a hands-on leadership approach in .NET and distributed systems.

This role requires ownership, incident-management expertise, and a drive to modernize architecture, including OutSystems-based initiatives and cross-functional collaboration with Product and Infra teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 8+ years of software engineering with 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong .NET backend development, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Proven experience with mission-critical, high-availability platforms.
• Understanding of production support, incident response, and RCA processes.
• OutSystems experience (or aptitude to learn quickly) for platform delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Senior Engineers, Tech Leads, and offshore developers.
• Own end-to-end delivery of Core Services platforms (Identity, Rules Manager, Document, Notification, APIs).
• Drive code quality, performance, scalability, and security standards.
• Ensure production stability and rapid incident resolution; participate in RCA and ITN processes.
• Collaborate with Product Owners for clear requirements and commitments; enforce release governance.
• Lead architecture discussions and modernization, including service isolation and caching.
• Foster OutSystems-based development where applicable and integrate with .NET services.
• Coordinate with Infra, DBA, and NOC for capacity, deployments, and performance.
