Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking a Software Development Manager, AVP to lead engineering delivery for the Core Services platform, the backbone of the enterprise. This hands-on leader will own end-to-end design, development, delivery, and production stability across multiple backend services that underpin all lines of business.

The role emphasizes deep .NET and distributed systems expertise, strong production ownership, incident management, and delivery governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong .NET backend, APIs, and distributed systems expertise.
• Experience managing mission-critical, high-availability platforms.
• Proven incident response and RCA processes.
• Experience leading onshore/offshore teams across time zones.
• OutSystems experience or willingness to learn rapidly.
• Delivery in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers and offshore developers.
• Own end-to-end delivery of Core Services platforms (Identity, Rules Manager, Document, Notification, APIs).
• Drive standards for code quality, performance, scalability, and security.
• Ensure production stability and rapid incident resolution.
• Partner with Product Owners for clear requirements and committed delivery.
• Enforce release governance and SLA compliance.
• Lead architecture discussions and modernization initiatives.
• Oversee OutSystems adoption and integration with .NET services.
• Collaborate with Infra/DBA/NOC on capacity and performance.
• Build ownership culture and after-hours support.
• Drive talent development, hiring, and performance.
• Provide executive delivery status and risk reporting.
