Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a Social Worker to provide compassionate case management and emergency assistance to individuals and families in crisis, helping carry out our mission. You will interview clients, assess eligibility for emergency support, and develop tailored assistance plans while maintaining confidentiality.

This role also involves coordinating with Pathway of Hope, leading the Corps Emergency Food Pantry, conducting outreach, and connecting clients with community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in case management or social services.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and complete Safe From Harm training within 90 days; Caseworker Certification within 120 days.
• Background checks required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Interview clients to determine needs.
• Assess eligibility for emergency assistance and Pathway of Hope services.
• Develop individualized client assistance plans.
• Provide referrals and link with community resources; build relationships with agencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of client records.
• Lead and maintain the Corps Emergency Food Pantry.
• Conduct outreach feeding programs for the community.
• Support Angel Tree, Christmas and Back-to-School programs.
• Create and update client files in the SIMS database.
• Collaborate with Pathway of Hope caseworkers for coordinated care.
• Monitor and document client progress and outcomes in Pathway of Hope.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.
