Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a qualified Housing/Caseworker to address immediate client needs, connect with community resources, and support stability. You will assess eligibility, assist with applications, and maintain records to ensure proper funding usage.

You will collaborate with staffing and community partners, attend meetings, and help coordinate food pantry activities while upholding the organization's mission and standards.

Qualifications

• Must have positive interpersonal relations and effective communication skills.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and software.
• Experience working with diverse populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess client needs and determine eligibility for rental/utilities support.
• Assist clients with completing applications for financial assistance and programs.
• Maintain accurate records of financial assistance and funding documentation.
• Coordinate the food pantry logistics and report monthly statistics.
• Refer clients to appropriate community resources and agencies.
