Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Community Caseworker to provide essential support and guidance to clients seeking emergency assistance. You will interview, assess needs, determine eligibility, and connect clients with referrals to Salvation Army and community services as part of the Pathway of Hope program.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Certifications: Valid MI Driver’s License with clearance to drive from The Salvation Army’s insurance carrier preferred. Must obtain the Territorial Caseworker Certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interview, evaluate needs, and assess eligibility for services.
• Coordinate with Pathway of Hope and community resources for referrals.
• Oversee Food Pantry operations and distribute food orders.
• Document client meetings and maintain records in the Client Management System.
• Participate in community meetings and build partnerships with agencies.
