Job summary

Siemens is offering a Smart Building Systems Specialist Intern position based out of Plymouth, MI, near Detroit. This hands-on program lets you work on HVAC automation, wiring, and building controls with experienced technicians onsite.

You’ll spend most of your time on job sites, shadowing, troubleshooting, and receiving on-the-job training, with limited sales exposure and collaboration with service and project teams to support installations and future upgrades.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or state-recognized GED.
• Education: Students currently enrolled in or who have recently completed a 2-year Technical College/School pursuing a degree in HVAC Controls, Building Automation, Mechanical Engineering / Technology, Electrical Engineering / Technology, Energy/Sustainability and Built Environment or related program.
• Availability: Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May-July or June - August).
• Relocation: Must be willing and able to work onsite at the location and surrounding local area. There is no relocation or housing stipend for this program.
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company or school sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• On-site exposure: install, program, and service HVAC automation systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting and hands-on maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to resolve discrepancies in system drawings.
