Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly motivated Chief Engineer for the SM-6 program to support Transition to Production in Tucson, AZ. You will lead technical execution across IPTs, interface with factories, and serve as the program's technical executive to ensure cadence and deliverables. This role requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, active DoD Secret clearance, and U.S.

citizenship. You will direct a multi-disciplinary engineering team, shape development and production plans, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with system development and design, requirements development, management, verification, system integration and test, and production.
• Experience working on modular systems architectures and product lines.
• Experience as a technical leader who can develop work plans and drive execution.
• Experience leading engineering teams.
• Experience managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage a product vision and strategy across Programs.
• Ensure technical integrity and execution across IPT to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
• Serve as primary technical contact with senior customers and leadership.
• Align internal/external customers on capabilities, risks, and architecture.
• Support new business captures and align roadmaps in planning.
• Plan and lead incremental upgrades and improvements.
• Drive improvements via FRACAS and Failure Review Boards.
• Engage major subcontractors to ensure deliverables.
• Direct a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
• Provide EXIM compliance guidance.
