Job summary

DABS, Inc. seeks a Skills Instructor to empower adults with developmental disabilities to build essential life and work skills through planned community activities. You will work directly with participants, guiding them toward greater independence and meaningful participation.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, facilitating community outings, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team. Starting pay is $18–$25 per hour, with both full- and part-time positions available, plus

Qualifications

• Caring and committed to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR certification and a recent TB test (assistance available).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources and planning activities.
• Take individuals on community outings for appointments, errands or enjoyment.
• Track and document progress with accurate case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
