Job summary

DABS, Inc. is seeking a Skills Instructor to work with adults with developmental disabilities, helping them build everyday skills for employment, education, and community participation.

You will lead person-centered activities and document progress, collaborating with a professional team to ensure comprehensive support. Starting pay ranges from $18 to $25 per hour, with weekly pay and both full- and part-time positions available.

Qualifications

• A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• A valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning engaging activities, and strengthening their skill sets.
• Take individuals on community outings—whether for appointments, errands, or just to enjoy the day.
• Track and document progress, capturing accurate and concise case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions to challenges.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
