Job summary

DABS, Inc. provides skills training and supported living services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking a Skills Instructor to deliver person-centered instruction, help individuals access community resources, and support independent living skills.

The role includes documenting progress and working with a devoted team in a mission-driven environment. Starting wage is $18–$25 per hour, with both full- and part-time positions available.

Qualifications

• A caring heart and a commitment to helping others live with dignity and independence.
• Willingness to undergo a state and federal fingerprint background check.
• CPR Certification and a recent TB test (we can help you obtain both if needed).
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus—training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered instruction through planned community activities.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources, planning activities, and strengthening skill sets.
• Take individuals on community outings—appointments, errands, or day trips.
• Track and document progress with concise case notes.
• Redirect inappropriate behaviors and facilitate positive resolutions.
• Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
