Job summary

G&W Electric Co. is seeking a Welder I for the 2nd shift (1:00pm to 9:30pm) in Bolingbrook, IL.

You will set up and operate welding equipment and atmospheric controls to weld a variety of metals and alloys for high-strength, pressure-rated subassemblies and aesthetically demanding parts. The role includes assembling, aligning, tack welding, reading drawings, selecting electrodes, regulating gas, and performing Mig/Tig welding while maintaining safety.

Qualifications

• Holds a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Has at least one year of formal welding training or the equivalent level of experience (preferred).
• Must be able to safely use hand and power tools, measuring tools and welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding equipment with atmospheric control for high-strength, pressure, and aesthetic welds.
• Assemble, align, square up and tack weld complex subassemblies using appropriate fixtures and tools.
• Read drawings and Bills of Material to facilitate accurate fabrication.
• Select electrode size and type, and regulate gas to ensure proper penetration and fusion.
• Perform Mig/Tig welding and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
