Job summary

G&W Electric Co in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Welder I to set up and operate welding equipment for complex subassemblies across metals and alloys, meeting high strength, pressure and aesthetic requirements.

You will assemble, align, tack weld, and finish parts using tools; perform Mig/Tig welding, read drawings and BOMs, and maintain a safe, efficient work environment. Pay range is $26-$28 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience.
• At least 1 year of formal welding training preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and records.
• Must be able to perform basic Mig and Tig welding.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding equipment for diverse metals.
• Assemble, align, square up and tack weld subassemblies.
• Read drawings/BOMs to guide fabrication and assembly.
• Perform Mig/Tig welding as required.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment and document actions.
